Melaka The Shore

The Shore is a shopping mall strategically positioned along Sungai Melaka, just a 10-minute walk from Jonker Street. ZCube’s food court project here spans 20,000 sq ft across 8 individual food store lots plus common area.

Design Concept & Approach

ZCube proposed a concept food court built entirely around Melaka’s cultural heritage, with each of the 8 food stores carrying its own unique material palette drawn from the state’s history and culinary character. Visitors are drawn in from the entrance by Portuguese-pattern floor tiles, leading through to a distinctive trishaw-wheel ceiling feature at the far end of the court. The result is a heritage-themed food court interior design that turns a routine dining stop into a small journey through Melaka’s culture and food story.
